New for 2024!
Our new official tournament rope for the Masters Waterski and Wakeboard tournament, Big Dawg Series, Regionals and Nationals tournaments. If you are skiing in a tournament, you should be practicing with this rope.
This is Masterline’s new Optimized Slide Loop slalom mainline for 2019. This new slalom mainline is the culmination of extensive testing by our team of skiers and top coaches to come out with the most optimized slalom line designed to help improve performance and reduce the stress on the body.
While our current rope is still the leading choice of skiers and tournaments worldwide, it was developed approximately 15 years ago. We have re-engineered our tournament slalom line to be “optimized” to take advantage of today’s technique, boats, skis and speed control. Slalom skiing is an ever evolving sport and constantly requires new demands.
To “optimize” our rope, we had to start with the main ingredient – our PolyproMAX yarn. We wanted to change the dynamic of the rope and control the amount of stretch and also the characteristics of the stretch.
While skiers often complain of the “bungee” ropes on the market, the stretch of the rope is an important factor in creating width, holding outbound direction and reducing fatigue and injury. The amount of stretch and the dynamics of that stretch are critical to the skier’s performance. We have set out to balance these two characteristics to create the ultimate “optimized” rope for performance.

This rope has our new and improved “slide loop” shortening loops. These allow for easy on and off and maximum rope length by not have to double up the loops. These loops open up to make it easier taking on and off the loops and then cinch back down to prevent the rope from coming accidentally coming off of the pylon.
The 18.25m and 16m loops are detachable to allow you to have a rope that starts at 28 off if you don’t need all of the sections. The slide loop sections go to 10.25m and the remaining 3 loops are interweaved into the long mainline for the 9.25m, 9.5m and 9.75m sections. The sections up to and including 9.75m have marking sleeves.
The loops are color coded to correspond to the line lengths. We have a primary white rope with 2 colored flecks running throughout the rope that indicate the rope sections you are on. Within these 2 flecked colors, we have added a light blue section that indicates what rope style and version of this rope.
Our ropes are all made in our factory in the USA. We control every aspect of production of our rope including the production of our yarn. Our ropes are hand braided on our jigs to our exacting specifications. The ropes are all measured for accuracy then stretched on our stretching jig to simulate a skiers pull to tighten up all the knots and stretch the yarn. Once the rope is stretched, the rope is then measured again and adjusted if necessary.
